After the 2006 Speed Week at the Bonneville Salt Flat we started modifying the car. We learned a lot by that experience. The following pictures show some of the changes made for the 2007 Speed Week.
New Construction
The NHRA style bumper that was supplied on the dragster frontend was sawed off.
Blocks of special foam were then glued into the opening. The foam blocks rest on a 1/4" thick sheet of fiberglass
which is backed up by a 16 ga. sheet of steel belly pan skin. The foam is then sanded to shape. the foam must be a bit lower than the existing fiberglass. The new application of resin and cloth will then be [sorta] the same thickness as the original.
